WassinkLundgrenPhotographers duo Thijs groot Wassink and Ruben Lundgren work in London and Shanghai. Their documentary photography features a sense of humour, originality and surprise. Not only the subjects of their images are put in a new point of view, but the medium photography as well. At the start of WassinkLundgren Autobahn made the corporate identity. Typography, instead of image, was a conscious choice. The line 'WassinkLundgren is still searching...' refers to Thijs's and Ruben's curiosity and the realisation of their position in the photography field. The additions after this line transform the sentence into funny and ambitious life goals. The Chinese variant reads: WassinkLundgren is still searching for loads of guanxi to become China's biggest art stars. Guanxi means something like 'network' or 'to know the right people', but it is difficult to translate properly. www.wassinklundgren.com
