FC Autobahn In 2008, Autobahn, together with 66 other reputable (inter)national designers, was invited by the Graphic Design Festival Breda (GDFB) to design a mupi poster. At daytime, the posters demonstrated the concept of graphic design in all its facets, while at night the GDFB logo, printed at the back, shone through the posters. As for the concept and design of the posters, the designers were kept free. Autobahn took this opportunity to demonstrate how worktime and spare time can blend very well. During the afternoon breaks, Autobahn often plays a game of football at the parking lot next to the studio complex. And in winter time, the table football table in the canteen is the meeting point for daily relaxation. Autobahn has united its love for typography and its fun in playing football in the typographic project FC Autobahn: a font that is based on the marks on a football field. The type specimen, which consists of the pangran The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, was written on the grass of a football field using a chalk cart. The photography was by Jaap Scheeren. After GDFB, FC Autobahn was presented once again at the Utregse Diezijnprijs 2008, and was rewarded with the first prize. And as an entry for the European Design Awards (EDA) in 2009, another bronze award was added.
